Cost of Teleconsult

The cost of the teleconsult will be determined by your GP and Specialist.  Teleconsults between the GP and a specialist are now covered by Medicare.  The teleconsult is currently bulkbilled on the specialists side, but this may change as the service becomes more popular.   Your GP will likely charge his usual amount for the consult, though some may charge more or less for teleconsults.

Cost of Pathology

It is envisaged that an Extended Rast test will be the most common test ordered for patients outside metropolitan areas and that currently costs $95 after medicare rebates.  An indication of other test costs can be found on this link http://www.snp.com.au/patient-services/health-library/test-locations.aspx  (also listed below)

Cost of Treatment

AllergyDr mainly use Stallergenes allergy vaccines for immunotherapy or desensitisation.  After you order and pay for the vaccine, we write a prescription and send it to the manufacturer who then ships it from the factory where it is made (in France) to your GP.  We do sometimes use ALK-ABELLO vaccines for patients who have already commenced treatment with these drops. Some private health insurance policies will reimburse some of the cost of allergy vaccines. Recently many have not supported sublingual vaccines and the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) and AllergyDr are working towards changing this policy.
